Our baby is 6 months Old! (well...6 1/2 months now)

He's halfway to 1 year old! We can't believe it! Ryan recently went to the doctor for his 6 month checkup. He is 28 inches long and weighs 21 pounds, 2 ounces - both in the 90th percentile for his age. Ryan has been doing a lot of practice sitting up. He sits pretty well on his own now, but occasionally needs some support to avoid falling backward.

Ryan continues to experiment with solid foods. So far he has had rice cereal, prunes, avocado, banana, sweet potato, and carrot. We think his favorite so far has been banana. We have yet to mix fruits/veggies, which leaves us with so many more great picture moments to look forward to like the two below.

Ryan tested out the swing on the playground for the first time. After Nana's birthday breakfast, we went for a walk along Campbell's Creek Trail where there is a great little playground. Ryan obviously can't do much, but that didn't stop us from putting him in the swing and on the teeter totter.  Nana has been taking him to a playground on their walks to try to entice him to get more excited about about the swing. The verdict is still out.

It was Melissa's first Mother's Day. Ryan and Jeff surprised her with flowers and her favorite breakfast of french toast.  Later that day, the family got together for a BBQ at the house and watched the Giants game, the usual Mother's Day tradition. It was a perfect, relaxing Mother's Day.

This month was also Jeff's birthday. It was more low key this year than previous years. We ordered a pizza and watched the Sharks game. Unfortunately, we don't have a picture because Ryan was asleep by the time Jeff got home. :( We continued to celebrate on the weekend by going to downtown Campbell's Boogie on the Bayou. It was a much different experience with a little one, but it was still a great time.
Enjoying some music at Boogie on the Bayou.

On Sunday, we went for a hike on the Quicksilver trail out in San Jose. Ryan enjoyed riding on Jeff's back in his new backpack (Thanks Uncle Mike!). The backpack has been used twice and we are 2/2 for taking a snooze in it.

Ryan has kept us very busy, but it has been the most amazing 6 months so far.
